Off-beat comedian T.J. Miller joined the ranks of Ricky Gervais and Chris Rock when he took up the task of hosting a big show during this year’s award season – and he proved that he could really hold his own against comedy heavyweights. On Sunday’s Critics’ Choice Awards, the Silicon Valley star managed to be both funny, eccentric, and just the right amount of inappropriate when he took over the stage. We’ve rounded up the best moments from Miller’s night, including his dig at Gervais. Miller really committed to his opening bit, which involved giving his entire monologue with four “dancing critic” puppets in matching tuxedos attached to him through bars on his legs and hands. But the best bit with the puppets had to be when he tried to descend the stage to greet Matt Damon. Let’s just say he didn’t make it very far. Walking with those puppets is harder than it looks! -
