The erstwhile government’s decision to provide free-visa-free-ticket to migrant workers as a welcome move, newly appointed Minister of Labour and Employment Deepak Bohara has said he will give continuity to the decision and work for its effective implementation. Talking to Setopati, Bohara said, “The decision is an excellent move for the welfare of Nepali migrant workers. My attention will focus on how to implement it effectively.” Pointing that the decision has stopped short of coming into full implementation, he said that the Ministry will bring the manpower agencies that fail to abide by the decision within the ambit of legal action, and warned that the license of companies that repeatedly ignore the decision will be scrapped. Bohara lauded the contribution of the migrant workers to the country’s economy and said his priority will be to enter labor agreement with countries that are see major influx of Nepali workers.
