KATHMANDU: A woman in her early 20s has been arrested on charge of fraudulence from the Capital, the Teku-based Metropolitan Police Crime Division said.Police identified the woman as Bhagawati KC, and said she used at least three other aliases – Dr. Suhana, Aditi, Sristi – to dupe youth including doctors, artistes and hoteliers among others in different parts of the country. She is said to be a permanent resident of Hastichaur, Gulmi district, but currently resided in Pokhara before moving to Kathmandu.The suspect posed herself as a medical doctor and told her targets she was daughter of a Deputy Inspector General of Nepal Police, Sanat KC, according to police.Posing herself as the senior cop’s daughter, the femme fatale even took away various goods from stores and dined at restaurants without footing the bill , according to police. At times, she would make others call the hotels — the caller posing himself as DIG Sanat KC and telling the hoteliers to take good care of his daughter, police informed.She was arrested from Sinamangal area of the Capital yesterday and handed over to the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, for further action. -
